This graph shows the improvements the A&H Dairy saw after installing Korral Kool Koolers. The first three years show the dramatic effects the summer heat has on conception rate. After installing Korral Kool Koolers, A&H Dairy saw a dramatic increase in summer time conception rate, from a summer low of 5% in 1988 to a summer low of 32.3% in 1989 with 2HP Koolers. The last two years show how Korral Kool can help you survive the summer months and start to level out your breeding program.

After cooling their whole dairy with Korral Koolers, Hillcrest Dairy saw their July conception rate jump from 33.9%, the year before, to 51.3% and an August conception rate that more than tripled to 48% with 3HP Koolers. For that summer, the average monthly pregnancy rate rose 112%.

The year after Hillcrest installed Korral Kool Koolers the results were published in The Dairyman, December 1993. The results showed the abortion rate had dropped 38% and the total number of dead cows for the summer dropped 35%. The manager of Hillcrest could not attribute a single cow death to heat stress as opposed to 40 the previous year.

Research has verified the dramatic impact Korral Kool Koolers have had in heat stress regions throughout the world. Although Korral Kool Koolers are only used in the summer months, their effectiveness can be felt the whole year. As heat stress is reduced, body condition is improved, producing greater yields in the winter months which will have a carry over effect year after year. By looking at A&H Dairy we see how cooling with Korral Kool Koolers has affected their milk production. The three year study compared non cooling (1988) to cooling half their milking cows (1989) to cooling all their milking cows (1990). The results show how the summer heat has less and less impact on A&H Dairy's milk production.

The Hillcrest Dairy

In 1993 Hillcrest Dairy installed a mixture of 2 HP (for low production cows) and 3 HP (for high production cows) Koolers. We went back to see how they were doing by looking at their milk yield/cow/day before the coolers were installed and over the following two years. Hillcrest Dairy has seen its summer milk production increase an average of 23.78 lb./cow/day. Increases yielded 7,313,471 more lbs. of milk in the summer of 1995 than in '92, based on $15/cwt. milk, that's over $1,097,000.00 for the summer!
